Americans unite around Flag for Hope Project across the country to support the goal of promoting UNITY among all Americans. The Flag for Hope will visit 120 cities and roughly 300 locations in the United States. An American flag is being created using handprints of thousands of individuals to show share support of this project.
This epic mission was started at the Indianapolis 500 on May 23, 2015. The Flag for Hope team will travel across the United States and go to over 120 cities and roughly 300 locations. Our goal is to collect approximately 5,000 American hand impressions on a giant canvas to create the American Flag. Each participant will put their impression on the flag in either red, white or blue paint.
There will be 50 American Gold Medal Olympians representing the 50 states. This symbolically will show the solidarity of the entire nation. Lastly, the 50 stars will be Iconic Americans that have greatly contributed to the strength of our country. They will be honored in 5 categories of significance. They are as follows:
- Sports Legends
- American Heroes/Veteran
- American Heroes/Civilian
The Flag For Hope will be completed on Veteran’s Day, November 11, 2015 at the Arlington National Cemetery. Finally, the flag will be donated to a museum like the Smithsonian Institute for all Americans to view for generations to come.
Americans Unite – Make Your Impression
Come to an event in your state, bring some friends, and leave your print on the Flag (space is limited). Partake in the ultimate expression of our shared humanity. Even if you can’t get your handprint on the canvas, we invite you to join the celebration of all we have in common as Americans by submitting a video of yourself telling us what the Flag means to you.
Americans Unite – Get Involved
Flag for Hope is first and foremost a social movement, and as such is only as powerful as the collective energy we all bring to it. We need volunteers in every state we bring the Flag to. This includes assisting and interacting with the participants, setting up the location, and maintaining the equipment and supplies. If you wish to volunteer, please e-mail us here.
